All Out Assault On Maelstrom Hideout

Ordinary day in northern Kabuki was disturbed by explosions and gunfire in a police assault on Maelstrom's Allfoods hideout as SWAT teams stormed in with aerodynes.

In broad daylight, at 2 PM February 2nd, the NCPD's SWAT teams cleared out the Allfoods plant with force finding illegal drug manufacturing equipment, netrunning gear and weapons. The plant is, as of writing this article, an active scene as the investigators are still scanning the plant.

NCPD's official stance on this large scale, peace disturbing assault is that it was needed to provide safety to Night Cities residents. And fair enough: the Maelstroms have wreaked havoc in both small and large scale ways for years in the area. The fight for peace and quiet in Night City, against Maelstrom, is not over, but this was surely an important development.

The Kabuki Allfoods plant has been abandoned since 2070, after the Unification War, when Arasaka took control of the Watson area. Conveniently large, abandoned, well-equipped and open for various manufacturing operations, the Maelstrom has been squatting there for years now. That is, until now.

The renowned SWAT leader of the assault, Captain Ramirez Riggs, had the following to say:

“Our perimeter policing approach is gaining success. Months of surveillance have been put in, and our officers did fine work with the gathered intel. Furthermore, this assault was an important step in driving the Maelstrom away from the city and making Night City safer for everyone. As far as we know, all remaining Maelstrom hideouts are now in Watson Northside. We will continue our efforts to serve and protect."

No comments were given about the number of suspects detained, but the fact is: Kabuki residents can now sleep more comfortably knowing the plant is rid of Maelstrom activities.
